About the congress​​​​​​​​​

Building on the success of previous editions, we are proud to announce the 4th edition of the 'Small is beautiful {4ever} - N-of-1 congress. The congress will be held live in Groningen, The Netherlands.

Congress dates are: April 21 - 23, 2027

The Single Case Design (SCD) to advance science and personalized care.

Interest in personalized assessments and interventions continues to grow. Single Case Experimental Design (SCED) and Single Case Observational Design (SCOD) studies are increasingly being used to meet this growing interest. This congress aims to bring together experts and novices in this expanding, relevant and exciting field of research. It offers a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and foster collaboration across disciplines.

For whom?

We warmly welcome anyone working with or interested in SCD studies from any discipline or profession, including but not limited to: researchers, scientist-practitioners, practitioners in health, social or educational contexts, physicians, research fellows, teachers and students.

The congress will take place in the beautiful city of Groningen, The Netherlands. It is hosted and coordinated by the University Centre of Psychiatry (UCP) and the Wenckebach Institute for Education and Training (WIOO) of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG).

Background information

The international “Small is Beautiful” congresses and symposia are organised once every 2 or 3 years by SCD experts from different universities worldwide, with the aim to demonstrate SCD as a broad, multidisciplinary methodology. The “Small is Beautiful {4ever}” congress in 2027 will be the fourth in line.
